The clock hangs on an intricately carved backboard full of trees and brambles. The clock itself has a Bahnh?usle design with a metal cage housing a life-sized, hand-carved and hand-painted bird. The bird flaps its wings and moves its beak to the cuckoo call. The clock-on-backboard design allows for incredible depth and dimension in the carving. The three-dimensional pine trees come to a delicate point above, and there is even real moss at the base of the trees! The bird is finely painted to show even more depth and lifelike realism.
