A Romba original!

Reproduction of Bahnhausle (Railway Station), cuckoo clock. German Regula, 8 Day movement with gong and cuckoo on the hour and half-hour. Antique stain, night shut-off, antique brass weights and 2 year warranty. Made by Rombach & Haas.

A faithful reproduction from the workshop of Ingolf Haas; this piece is as interesting as it is beautiful. This piece looks as if it came off the wall of a museum, or 19th-Century cottage. The brass weights have a lovely patina, and the pendulum is intricately carved. This piece is a star of our collection and destined to fit the home of the most discerning connoisseur.

The Bahnhäusle design has been an incredibly popular design since 1850. Friedrich Eisenlohr of Furtwangen, Germany first submitted the design as part of a contest for the Grand Duchy of Baden. His inspiration was a railroad guard's house overrun by vines and leaves. This particular design is from the best known clock maker of the 1850's, Johann Baptist Beha.

When the clock strikes the hour or half-hour the door opens, a cuckoo appears and calls along with the clock's gong strike. This piece features a porcelain dial with brass hands.

This clock is hand made in the Black Forest in Germany. The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights and time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. The cuckoo call sound is made by two wooden whistles with bellows inside the clock case.

Even the packaging has old-world charm, as only paper is used. The factory packing is all made with renewable materials. Perfect for modern or traditional decor!
