This cuckoo clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach Germany. The clock is made of hand-carved linden wood with branches, leaves and a single bird sitting on the crest. The #25 brass mechanism is made in Germany by Regula and is very trouble free and easy to service. Gravity is applied to the mechanism by two cast iron pine cones that drive the time and cuckoo call. The chain drive uses two brass chains that are tarnish resistant.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird springs into action and calls the hour. The bird then retreats back into the clock and the door slaps shut behind. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo again emerges to call only once to mark the half-hour. This Schneider cuckoo clock has wooden dial, hands, numerals, cuckoo bird and a 2 year warranty. Hand-painted flowers are added to enhance the beauty of this fine cuckoo clock.
