This Black Forest house cuckoo clock has a moving wood chopper and hand painted flowers. The roof is made of individually, hand spliced, shingles and has a chimney protruding from the roof. There is an owl and squirrel watching the wood chopper work.
The clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. It uses the German Regula model 25 movement which is reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the brass, tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. A night shut-off switch is also standard for quiet time or night use. The pendulum swings back and forth to allow the escapement of the mechanical mechanism.
