The hand carved cuckoo bird emerges from a round portal with door. There are two hand carved trees with authentic Black Forest boulders. A running fountain is located on the right side of the clock. Grandpa is watching from the left as Heidi and her animated goat look on. Her brother stands next to his trusty dog. The windows have open curtains and flowers in the front box. There are also flowers between Heidi and the dog.
This cuckoo clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. It uses the German Regula model 25 movement which is reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call.
The dial, numerals, hands and cuckoo bird are all made of wood. A night shut-off switch is also standard for quiet time or night use.
