This quaint cuckoo clock has a hand spliced shingle roof and carved edelweiss flowers attached to the clock case. There are two hand carved trees with a hand carved dog standing next to the animated accordion player. When the clock strikes the hour the cuckoo bird will pop out of the door and call the hour as the accordion player moves. At the bottom of the hour cuckoo will call one time only and the accordion player will also move.
The dial, numerals, hands and cuckoo bird are all made of wood. A night shut-off switch is also standard for quiet time or night use.
The cuckoo clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. It is 13.8 inches tall and uses the German Regula model 25 movement which is reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. The pendulum gently swings back and forth to control the timing of this fine Black Forest cuckoo clock.
