This is another small cuckoo clock from Anton Schneider made in Schonach, Germany. It is very ornate and the scene depicts a young girl feeding two geese in front of a wood pile. This is a colorful cuckoo clock and has the family dog watching from the other side of the clock next to a hand carved tree, bucket and boulders. There is a bench just to the left of the dial.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from his door and call the hour and return inside the clock. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo will call only once before returning inside the clock.
The clock uses the German Regula number 25 movement which is reliable and easy to maintain. The pendulum swings back and forth to allow escapement of the clock mechanism. There are two cast iron weights shaped like pines cones that drive the clock. They hang on two brass tarnish resistant chains which feed up thru the mechanism gears to apply power to the mechanical mechanism. There is also a night shut off switch for quiet time or night use.
