This Tudor style Black Forest house cuckoo clock depicts a religious shrine and animated wanderer. The clock is very colorful and has hand spliced shingle roof. The windows all have open shudders and flowers below each window.
During the call of cuckoo at the top and bottom of the hour the wanderer moves as a squirrel watches his movement.
The clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. It uses the German Regula model 25 movement which is reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the brass, tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. A night shut-off switch is also standard for quiet time or night use. The pendulum swings back and forth to allow the escapement of the mechanical mechanism.
