This Alpine chalet cuckoo clock has a log roof and rocks to help hold it down. There are hand-carved trees on each side of the case. The animated wood chopper chops wood during the call of cuckoo at the top and bottom of the hour.
Anton Schneider manufactures this fine cuckoo clock and it is made in Schonach, Germany. This clock has a one day movement which must be wound daily. It is reliable and very easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones hang below the clock on tarnish resistant brass chains. These weights apply gravity to the chain which transmits up thru the gears in the clock driving the movement, time and cuckoo call.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from the door at the top and call the hour and then return to its nest as the door slaps shut. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo appears and calls only once to mark the half-hour. There is a night shut-off switch for quiet time or night use. This clock has a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
