Model #1250 Cuckoo Clock with Carved Grape Leaves.
This charming cuckoo clock scene of leaves over a Bahnhausle frame is entirely hand-carved from solid linden wood. When the clock reaches the hour or half-hour the door opens, a cuckoo bird appears and calls the time along with the clocks gong strike.
This clock is hand made in the Black Forest in Germany by Romba and Haas. The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights and time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. The cuckoo call sound is made by two wooden whistles with bellows inside the clock case. This design is available in several configurations including one with an 8-day movement and one that plays music. See model numbers 8250 and 8250QM.
