This is a small Tudor style Black Forest house cuckoo clock. The windows are decorated with flower baskets. There is a hand carved tree standing next to the bench where the strolling couple just left. Their trusty dog is there to greet them on their return home.
Anton Schneider is the manufacturer of this fine cuckoo clock and it is made in Schonach, Germany. This clock has a one day movement which must be wound daily. It is very reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones hang below the clock on tarnish resistant brass chains. These weights apply gravity to the chain which transmits up thru the gears in the clock driving the movement time and cuckoo call.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from the door at the top and call the hour and then return to its nest as the door slaps shut. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo appears and calls only once to mark the half-hour. There is a night shut-off switch for quiet time or night use. This clock has a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
