This is a delightful Tudor style Black Forest house cuckoo clock. The windows are decorated and shudders open. There are hand carved trees on each side of the case and the resting beer drinker enjoys some suds before going back to work. His trusty dog is by the wood stack at the front of the clock.
Anton Schneider is the manufacturer of this fine cuckoo clock and it is made in Schonach, Germany. This clock has an eight day movement which must be wound weekly. It is very reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones hang below the clock on tarnish resistant brass chains. These weights apply gravity to the chain which transmits up thru the gears in the clock driving the movement time and cuckoo call.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from the door at the top and call the hour and then return to its nest as the door slaps shut. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo appears and calls only once to mark the half-hour. There is a night shut-off switch for quiet time or night use. This clock has a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
