Black Forest Chalet Cuckoo Clock with Animated Blacksmith, Dancers, Stork and Water-wheel, Model #8TMT 595/9
This Black Forest House cuckoo clock is one of Anton Schneider's best sellers. When the clock strikes the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge and call the hour as a baby stork bobs up and down in anticipation of being fed. Music will then begin to play as the dancing couples dance, the water-wheel turns and the blacksmith works his trade.
The dial, numerals, hands and cuckoo bird are all made of wood. An automatic night shut-off switch is also standard for quiet time or night use. The night shut-off can be on, off or used on automatic. The Swiss music box plays one of two melodies after the call of cuckoo and is located in the clock interior. The melodies are Edelweiss and The Wanderer but are subject to change.
The cuckoo clock is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. This Tudor style clock measures 17.3 inches tall and uses a German Regula movement which is reliable and easy to service. Three cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. The pendulum gently swings back and forth to control the timing of this fine Black Forest cuckoo clock.
