This delightful cuckoo clock has a curved roof with hand spliced wooden shingles. It's a Tudor style clock and has colorful windows with open shudders. There are hand carved trees on each side of the case and the animated walking clock peddler approaches the bridge with detailed carving of a lady on the other side. Below are two hand caved leaves attached to the lower part of the case.
Anton Schneider manufactures this fine cuckoo clock and it is made in Schonach, Germany. This clock has an eight day movement which must be wound weekly. It is reliable and very easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones hang below the clock on tarnish resistant brass chains. These weights apply gravity to the chain which transmits up thru the gears in the clock driving the movement, time and cuckoo call.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from the door at the top and call the hour and then return to its nest as the door slaps shut. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo appears and calls only once to mark the half-hour. There is a night shut-off switch for quiet time or night use. This clock has a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
