This is a beautiful cuckoo clock, with great carvings of three birds and seven leaves surrounding this charming cuckoo.
This clock is hand made in the Black Forest in Germany by Romba und Haas. The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights that are shaped like pine cones. The weights hang on hooks underneath the clock and apply gravity to drive the cuckoo call and time. The time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. The cuckoo call sound is made by two wooden whistles with bellows inside the clock case. As they move up and down the whistle or cuckoo sound is made. This is truly one of Romba's great small clocks and has a 2 year warranty which is serviced in the United States. Watch the video of this fine cuckoo clock in action.
Even the packaging has old-world charm, as only paper is used. The factory packing is all made with renewable materials.
