This fine cuckoo clock has hand spliced shingle roof and is made by Anton Schneider in Schonach, Germany. The curved roof chalet cuckoo clock features detailed carvings and an animated rocking horse.
It uses the German Regula number 34 movement which must be wound weekly. During the call of cuckoo at the top and bottom of the hour the rocking horse will move. The dial, numerals, hands and cuckoo bird are all made of wood. A night shut off switch is provided for quiet time and night use.
Two cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. There are many fine details added to this cuckoo clock such as decorator balcony, hand carved tree bench with carved woman and a dog. There are carved leaves attached to the base of this colorful clock.
