The Black Forest cuckoo clock is made in Schonach Germany. The clock is made of hand-carved linden wood with branches, leaves and a single bird sitting on the crest. The case including hand-carved birds, leaves are all finished with a rich almond stain. The #34 brass mechanism is made in Germany by Regula and is very trouble free and easy to service. Gravity is applied to the mechanism by two cast iron pine cones that drive the time and cuckoo call. The chain drive uses two brass chains that are tarnish resistant.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird springs into action and calls the hour. The bird then retreats back into the clock and the door slaps shut behind. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo again emerges to call only once to mark the half-hour. This Schneider cuckoo clock has wooden dial, hands, numerals, cuckoo bird and a 2 year warranty. Please watch the video below for complete action of this clock.

I've only had this clock for 1 week and I'm still working on getting it adjusted for accuracy. The clock worked perfectly as soon as I hung it on the wall. My old cuckoo clock was very hard to get level and keep running.I did not give this clock 5 stars because the clock face is much smaller and harder to read than my old clock of the same size. The dial and hands don't show up as well in our log cabin since the room is not very bright. The numbers and hands are wood and off white. If you will be viewing this clock in a dim room or from a distance you may want a clock with a larger face or easier to read hands and numbers. The almond finish and wood work are beautiful, much higher quality than my old Black Forest clock from another manufacturer.
