This is a small bell tower cuckoo clock, made by Anton Schneider in the Black Forest of Germany. This clock depicts a two large, hand carved, trees as the frame for this house. There is a water fountain on the left side a pile of wood in the middle and an authentic Black Forest boulder on the right. Above is a very ornate balcony overlooking the scene and the clock is made with natural wood finish.
This clock has a one day movement which must be wound daily. It is very reliable and easy to service. Two cast iron pine cones hang below the clock on tarnish resistant brass chains. These weights apply gravity to the chain which transmits up thru the gears in the clock driving the movement time and cuckoo call.
At the top of the hour the cuckoo bird will emerge from the door at the top and call the hour and then return to its nest as the door slaps shut. At the bottom of the hour the cuckoo appears and calls only once to mark the half-hour. There is a night shut-off switch for quiet time or night use. This clock has a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
