The cuckoo clock is 22.8” tall from the top of the bell tower to the bottom most part of the cuckoo clock. This does not count the pendulum or weights. The clock is made in Schonach, Germany by Anton Schneider.
Three cast iron pine cones apply gravity to the tarnish resistant chains which drive the movement, time and cuckoo call. The pendulum gently swings back and forth to control the timing of this fine Black Forest cuckoo clock.
During the call of cuckoo the wood chopper chops wood and a bell chimes. The musical then starts to play one of two melodies that change each hour. During this time the dancers dance, the water-wheel turns and the mill saws wood.
