This Anton Schneider cuckoo clock is made in Schonach Germany. It is hand-carved by the masters and has a very rich almond finish.
The cuckoo clock is decorated with three hand-carved birds that sit on both sides and one on top amongst the carved oak leaves and branches. During the call of cuckoo at the top and bottom of the hour the side birds will rock back and forth as though feeding the nest.
This cuckoo clock uses the brass, German Regula #34 mechanical movement which is very reliable and easy to service. The dial, numerals, hands and cuckoo bird are all made of wood to accent the clock. There are two cast iron weights that run the clock. They hang on a hook at the end of a chain which runs over the gears providing energy to the clock mechanism. It could be considered a green clock as it is very energy efficient. The chains are made of tarnish resistant brass.
At night time or for quiet hours there is a manual night shut-off switch on the left side of the clock. This cuckoo clock is covered by a 2 year warranty.
