Traditional leaf and bird cuckoo clock with 1 day German Regula movement. Gong and cuckoo on the hour and half-hour. This clock features wooden dial, antique stain, night shut-off and 2 Year warranty. When the clock strikes the hour or half-hour, the door opens, a cuckoo appears and calls along with the clock's gong strike.
This cuckoo clock uses the German Regula #25 movement which must be wound daily. It has 5 hand-carved leaves and 1 bird among the branches. The bird sits high on the crest. The leaves and bird are hand carved from solid Linden wood. This small cuckoo clock is made in Germany by Sternreiter and stocked in the United States for quick delivery.
The mechanical brass movement is driven by two weights and time escapes with the tick of a traditional pendulum. The weights are made of cast iron and the chains of a tarnish resistant brass. The cuckoo call sound is made by two wooden whistles with bellows inside the clock case. Watch the video below for the complete actions of this great cuckoo clock.
***The video below shows the model #8200 cuckoo clock which a little bigger than the #1200. The #8200 uses the 8 day German Regula movement which must be wound weekly rather than daily. The video is shown for the function of the cuckoo clock only. Both clocks call the time at the top of the hour and only once at the bottom of the hour.***
