The Jugend wall clock brings us back to one of the most popular and classic designs of the modern era. The German “Box-Clock” was originally produced by Gustav Becker in the early part of the 20th century. The Jugend, today, is produced by Sternreiter and is the finest, and possibly, the only example available in America today.
The case is entirely made in the United States and is made from thick, solid walnut boards and the door hinges are made of solid brass. The case makers have also used mineral glass to add value to this great wall clock.
The mechanical mechanism is made in Germany of solid brass and must be wound weekly. This wall clock plays the Westminster chime on tuned brass rods for a rich sound, each quarter hour. The dial is made of solid brass and has Roman numerals. The bezel is made of brass and has an elegant brushed finish. There is also a night shut-off switch for quiet time and night use.
